29 / 26 gauge steel · Acrylic-coated · Lifetime substrate
The math behind metal.
Service Life
50+ years
Outlasts 2–3 asphalt roof cycles. Real-cost-per-year often cheaper despite higher upfront.
Wind Rating
130+ mph
Standing-seam systems are tested to hurricane-grade winds. No lifted shingles, no failed adhesive.
Attic Temp
−20°F
Cool-roof finishes reflect heat instead of absorbing it. AC works less, attic stays drier, decking lasts longer.
Hail Performance
Class 4
Steel doesn't lose granules. Cosmetic dents are possible but functional integrity is unaffected.

Metal Roofing FAQs.
Is a metal roof noisy when it rains?+
No louder than an asphalt roof in any home with attic insulation and standard sheathing. The 'metal roof on a tin shed' sound is a barn without insulation, not a home.
Will a metal roof get hit by lightning more often?+
No. Metal roofs don't attract lightning, and if struck, they actually conduct the charge to ground safely instead of igniting like asphalt or wood shakes can.
What does a metal roof cost in Central Texas?+
Metal pricing depends on system (standing-seam vs stamped vs exposed-fastener), gauge, finish, and roof complexity. Metal carries a higher upfront cost than asphalt but typically a lower cost-per-year over a 50-year service life. Request a free on-site estimate for a written quote.
Will my HOA approve metal roofing?+
Most modern Central Texas HOAs allow standing-seam or stamped metal, and many were updated in the last decade. We submit material spec sheets and color samples to your HOA on your behalf.
Can I install metal over an existing roof?+
Some standing-seam systems allow over-deck install over a single layer, but we generally tear off to inspect and re-deck if needed. Trapped moisture under a 50-year metal roof is a 50-year problem.
